About

Hannah studied music at City University and saxophone at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Music. Since graduating, Hannah has worked professionally as a dancer, singer and entertainer for a variety of companies including Pop Management, Princess Cruises, TUI and ITV and professionally as a musician for several regional musical theatre companies.

Hannah started teaching at Kimberley Performing Arts Centre in 2005 and in 2008 completed her PGCE in secondary music. She has taught in a variety of educational settings across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire as an Arts specialist, as a classroom teacher across the primary and secondary curriculum, as a peripatetic music teacher and as a private instrumental & vocal tutor for 16 years. She also worked as a vocal coach for Theatretrain between 2012 and 2014.

Seeking to continue her professional development, Hannah has completed a variety of courses with Teach Voice/Voice Care Centre (Jaw Tension & Movement for vocal coaches), Vocal Health Education (Vocal Health First Aider), Estill Voice International (Level 1 Figures for Voice Control, Level 2 Six Voice Qualities, Estill for Singing Teachers, Estill for Children & Adolescent Voices, Estill Figure Proficiency Preparation), Vocal Process (Professional Development Webinar Series), Voice Workshop (Teaching Belt Safely) and LAMDA teacher training.

In addition to teaching, Hannah has experience with choreographing and directing shows for local theatre groups and schools including 13 and High School Musical for KPAC.

I have been working with Hannah for many years and have always found her lessons to be a productive and comfortable environment to work in. Not only does she support my vocal needs in the lessons but also every other aspect of day to day life, making time to get to know my lifestyle and how other areas may be affecting what I seek to achieve in my lessons. I have maintained a desire to work with Hannah after moving to drama school and she has always been understanding and accommodating to ensure I can still benefit from the teaching she provides. Hannah is a fantastic, patient music teacher who fits lessons to each individuals goals. Her bespoke approach to lessons has ignited the passion in my daughter to play piano again after loosing interest in playing at junior school. Not wanting to do graded piano work was not an issue. My daughter has really enjoyed learning pieces of music that she enjoys and with Hannahs extensive musical background, she has kept her engaged. She particularly enjoys it when they play a piece together. Offering lessons via zoom when it is not possible to meet face to face is an added bonus.

I’d like a regular slot, what is the best way to book?

When booking lessons, select a "subscription" lesson type. This will reserve their time slot for 12 months and our system will automatically take payment for each lesson. Subscription lesson payments are always taken 7 days in advance.

What if I want to cancel a lesson that is part of my 12 month subscription?

A subscription can be cancelled at any time with no commitments to have lessons for the full 12-month period, subject to a 24-hour cancellation policy. Students can cancel out individual lessons within their subscription without it affecting their subscription as a whole. This is great if, for example, a student is on holiday for 2 weeks and wants to cancel these lessons but does not want to lose their regular time slot.

Do you only teach music?

No, I teach drama, in particular LAMDA Syllabus work and have been entering pupils in exams for approximately 5 years now.
